SYRIA, THE EMERGING STAR OF THE MENA (MIDDLE EAST & NORTH AFRICA)

Syria lies on the eastern shores of the Mediterranean and at the western boundaries of Asia, the largest and oldest continent of the world. Because of this sea-land location, the country developed over its long history many active and strong relations -economic and cultural-with all the countries of southern Europe (Greece, Italy, etc), Western Asia (Turkey, Iraq, Iran, etc.) and Northern African nations (Egypt, Algeria, Libya, etc.)
The Syrian people, with trade and industry running in their blood, have often dominated trade in the Levant Region (including Lebanon and Jordan) and now even in the Arabian Gulf. It is now expected that this role will grow and strengthen, especially with the rapid expansion of international trade and the encouragement of the Syrian Government.
The total effects of the “hospitable” investment climate, relatively stable economical status and government’s intention and efforts to make Syria on the list of most important and promising investment destinations in MENA makes Syria the emerging star of the MENA (Middle East & North Africa).
